I took the girls to the museum of Life and Science yesterday and we had a great time. Kelsie and I used to go on fun outings all the time before Mackenzie was born. But since she is now in preschool 4 mornings a week and Mackenzie needs naps in the afternoon, it is always hard to find the time. She was out of school Monday and Tuesday this week so I was hoping the weather would be nice enough to get over to the museum one day. It did not disappoint!
This is the first time I have seen the new Hideaway Woods portion of the museum and we loved it. It’s all about kids exploring outdoors in nature. There are treehouses and bridges and ropes to climb. Down below are hammocks and streams to play in among other things. It really is well done.
The rope bridges connect the tree houses. I felt a little unsteady walking across these wobbly things while wearing flip flops and a baby across my chest. I had to hold on with 2 hands and trust that sling to keep baby where she needed to be. But it worked. No one fell. And baby Mac got to experience quite the adventure!
The butterfly house is always a favorite.
This was the first time in a months that I have tried to let her fall asleep on me during nap time. She usually just falls asleep in her crib or in the car if we are out. I don’t get to take Kelsie out for things like this on my own like I used to so I thought I would just go for it. And Mackenzie did great! It was all off her normal routine but today she has been back on track! So thankful she adjusts so well to whatever our busy lives throw at her!
