My last post highlighted many of the things that overwhelm me and make me feel stressed, but this one highlights the beautiful and joyful moments I get to experience everyday with my girls. This is really more of the normal around here and I wish I could take the time to document like this every week, just so I would have it to look back on one day.
I do take ALOT of pictures EVERY DAY! There are just so many countless things that happen every day that make me smile or laugh or think “I should write that down” or share that my my family or friends! So I love that I usually have my phone near by to capture all these cute and happy moments with my girls. . It truly is so wonderful living life with these 2 kiddos.
Today, Thursday 4/14/16
Mackenzie took what should be her last ride in the baby doll carriage tonight. Big sister insisted and we allowed it, but by the way it swayed back and forth, I think she has definitely outgrown it!
They took their first swing together on the backyard swings today.
Kelsie was on the floor playing with Mackenzie and then I heard her say, “oh I just love you!” as she hugged her from behind. Of course I had to grab a picture of that too. 😉
This morning as I was getting ready, Kelsie was sitting in my bed playing with Mackenzie and she said “look at us”… And yes, it was so sweet!
Mackenzies smile draws me in every single time. And that new thing she has been doing when she scrunches her nose up is just the cutest!!
Every day I am reminded how Kelsie is growing up and changing, by the things she does, the way she talks, the things she says, and the way she thinks…but when I see her like this, I still see my baby! 💗 (and a pile of unicorns)
She doesn’t typically nap anymore, but I still get her to take one about once or twice a week. She is usually exhausted by the time Wednesday rolls around, and since she has T-ball at 6 on Wednesdays, its typically a day I enforce some rest time. She took a 2.5 hour nap this week and I had to wake her up to go to practice! I still had to stop and stare at her first. I think it’s universal that a mother loves to watch her kids sleep!
Mackenzie spiked a fever last night of 103.2. She otherwise has been acting ok. Slight nasal drainage and has coughed 2-3 times today but that’s it. But when she woke up last night after I gave her ibuprofen, she was still happy and smiley as usual. This baby seriously smiles all the time.
Turning a rainy day into a fun day. Jumping in puddles with friends after dance and a stop at the coffee shop.
The girls were in Kelsie’s room playing and I overheard Kelsie reading the bible to Mackenzie. “And God is the shephard…”, and “Jesus died on the cross to forgive our sins…” What a sweet sound to hear and sight to see! It was a nice start to the week!
Kelsie’s preschool class had their 100th day of school celebration! She was SO excited! They decorated their hats with 100 stamps, she took 100 sequin flowers to their class “museum” and they made fruit loop necklaces with 100 fruit loops!
We planted flowers after we got home from school while Mackenzie napped. She became more interested in the worms that she dug up than the flowers but we did get one planted. 🙂
And to make the most of the beautiful day, we drove over to see the farm animals at Fearrington Village and even met up with friends there for an impromptu playdate.
Kelsie even “read” the new book she got at the bookstore to the boys and they were all engaged.
Post bathtime giggles in front of the bathroom mirror with a “mommy sandwich”. 🙂
Nathan was gone all day on a hike. So my mom came up and helped watch the girls while I caught up on housework. She is such a saint. She was rewarded by these cute faces and giggles.Friday 4/8/16
We stayed home all day and Kelsie and I had such a good day together! The highlight was the fairy garden we completed from start to finish. We also had good conversation as we worked on it together. Good stuff!
We invited Kelsie’s friend over to play after school. These impromptu playdates are just so special. Kelsie gets so excited and tells me afterwards, “thank you mommy so much! I loved it so so much!”. And I just adore her little friend. They love each other so much and the sweet giggles are absolutely precious!
